Presenting DH Research in the Benelux
The DH Benelux conference is a young initiative that strives to further the dissemination of, and collaboration between Digital Humanities projects in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg by hosting an annual conference in various institutions throughout these countries. The conference serves as a platform for the fast growing community of DH researchers to meet, present and discuss their latest research results and to demonstrate tools and projects.
Second DH Benelux conference
This second edition of the DHBenelux conference took place in Antwerp, Belgium, on 8th and 9th of June 2015. Focussing on research in the Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, we welcomed participants from outside this area as well. Since the exchange of information was a major goal of the conference, the program consisted of a number of parallel sessions, packed with short, 15 minute presentations. A poster reception was held at the Antwerp Zoo, where the conference dinner took place afterwards.
The conference’s two keynote speakers were William Noel, Director of The Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts at the University of Pennsylvania; and Elena Pierazzo, Professor of Italian Studies and Digital Humanities at Stendhal University, Grenoble III, whose monograph on Digital Scholarly Editing is to be published in August 2015.
